It's me The Pied Piper with another Six Sentence Sunday. This is my third week participating. What is Six Sentence Sunday? It is a weekly blog where I post a six sentence teaser of either a work in progress, a published work, or a finish manuscript. If you'd like to check out other authors Six Sentences I encourage you to go to www.sixsunday.com. Trust me you won't be disappointed with what you find.
Today I'm posting six sentences from my newly finished manuscript Astrid Walker. It is a supernatural thriller with romantic elements about a young woman who suffers from a rare sleep disorder that allows her to astral project into other peoples dreams. Think love child of Freddy Kruger and Carrie White. This is from her very first experience.
Breath even, hand tucked under her cheek, mouth relaxed in an expression of peace, she’d never looked more content. Moonlight broke through a slit in the curtains over the window across the room illuminating her dark skin. She looked like a doll, it truly was a sight to see.
And she did…see it, that is.
Standing at the foot of the bed a seemingly whole Astrid in the same long white gown she’d worn to bed, was wearing asleep in bed, stood impossibly watching herself….
Sleep.
That definitely earns a head-tilt. Very smooth.
