Six Sentence Sunday

Wow! Sunday seems to come faster and faster each week, doesn't it? Once again I'm excited to announce another Six Sentence Sunday. That's the good news. The bad news, depending on how you want to take it, is that this is the last excerpt I'll be putting up from my recently completed manuscript Astrid Walker. So, without further ado, here's my six for this week picking up from right where we left off last Sunday:
Confused, Astrid turned around in circles, scanning, attempting to orient herself to the abrupt change of scenery. She glanced down, and damn near pissed her pants at what she saw.
Wait, could an astral being piss their pants? She didn’t know, but squeezing her eyes closed tight then opening them again, she thought, if there ever were a time for the theory to be tested, it’d be now. Because, yep, she definitely wasn’t in her room anymore. Astrid wiggled her toes in the grainy, warm, broken granules, shifting just her eyes, she gazed down—sand.

Alrighty folks, that's it for Six Sentence Sunday. If you want to check out other awesome authors visit www.sixsunday.com click a name and get to readin' six sentences from either a WIP, completed manuscript, or a published works from a number of many wonderful authors.

Six Sentence Sunday

Happy Sunday everyone! Wow! Sunday already. The week goes far too fast. As you all are becoming accustomed to, it's Six Sentence Sunday. The time authors get together and share six sentences from a work in progress, a completed work, or a published novel.

Today, by popular demand, we again meet Astrid from my completed Supernatural Thriller with romantic elements manuscript Astrid Walker. If you haven't heard about her please check the last couple Sunday posts and check her out. We rejoin Astrid right after she touches the picture of her friend while in her astral body...
Coming out of her previous crouch, Astrid rose to her full height. Unsteady on her feet, she reached to steady herself on the dresser. It wasn’t there. She blinked repeatedly to clear her still unfocused vision. Like an unexpected flash of a camera, when next she opened her eyes, a bright light assaulted her.
No, it wasn’t light. It was…the sun.

And there you have it ;-) If you want to check out other authors who are amazing, by the way. Please visit www.sixsunday.com to see their six.

Six Sentence Sunday

Howdy Doody, everyone?! I doody fine. In what is becoming a grand tradition, it is time for Six Sentence Sunday. What's Six Sentence Sunday? A day where several authors post six sentence clips from either their work in progress, something published, or something they've written. I've been doing it for weeks now and I'm here to share mine with you.

Below you'll find another excerpt from my finished manuscript Astrid Walker. A Supernatural Thriller with romantic elements, it's about a woman suffering from nightmare induced insomnia. Upon a suggestion from a friend, she takes a sleep-aid that instead of helping her sleep has a couple scary side-effects...astral projection and dream-walking. This excerpt shows her first experience with dream-walking, she's staring at a picture of her best friend--who doesn't believe her experience--while in her astral body....

“I’m crazy,” she scoffed in her echoic, dreamy, bell voice, “puh-lease. You dress up like Marilyn Monroe for Halloween and I’m the crazy one.” She touched Davin’s image with the tip of her pointer finger—and froze.

A queasy feeling rolled over her.

Eyes focused on the photo, it blurred, rippled as if it were liquid, a loud whooshing rushed through her ears.

Her vision unfocused as if scrambled, it wobbled, shifted—changed.

Six Sentence Sunday

Hello all,
It's me The Pied Piper with another Six Sentence Sunday. This is my third week participating. What is Six Sentence Sunday? It is a weekly blog where I post a six sentence teaser of either a work in progress, a published work, or a finish manuscript. If you'd like to check out other authors Six Sentences I encourage you to go to www.sixsunday.com. Trust me you won't be disappointed with what you find.

Today I'm posting six sentences from my newly finished manuscript Astrid Walker. It is a supernatural thriller with romantic elements about a young woman who suffers from a rare sleep disorder that allows her to astral project into other peoples dreams. Think love child of Freddy Kruger and Carrie White. This is from her very first experience.

Breath even, hand tucked under her cheek, mouth relaxed in an expression of peace, she’d never looked more content. Moonlight broke through a slit in the curtains over the window across the room illuminating her dark skin. She looked like a doll, it truly was a sight to see.

And she did…see it, that is.

Standing at the foot of the bed a seemingly whole Astrid in the same long white gown she’d worn to bed, was wearing asleep in bed, stood impossibly watching herself….
Sleep.
